Beef and Cabbage Pie

This is an easy savory weeknight recipe that tastes delicious!

Ingredients:

Filling:

1.5 to 2 pounds of ground beef

1 ½ tsp of salt

1 tsp black pepper

1 onion, chopped

1 tsp garlic salt

2 TBSP Worcestershire sauce

1 medium head of cabbage, chopped

1 tsp oregano

1 tsp chili powder

½ tsp of ground sage

8 ounces of sautéed mushrooms (optional)

2 premade pie crusts

Egg white to paint the top crust

Kosher salt to sprinkle on the top crust.

Preheat oven to 425 degrees

Brown ground beef, add the mushrooms (if using), onion, salt, garlic salt, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, chili powder, oregano, sage and cabbage. Simmer until cooked and set aside.

Place one pre-made pie crust in the bottom of a pie pan.

Add the filling. If using cheese, place a layer of cheese on top of the filling and add the top crust to the pie. Slice vent holes and paint the top crust with egg white and sprinkle with kosher salt if desired.

Bake at 425 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the pie is heated to 190 degrees throughout.
